I had the pleasure last year of a visit to Sicily and witnessed for the first time the wonderful orange tree orchards although without fruit in summer time.

Seville oranges usually arrive here from Spain ( if you happen to be in the South of Spain over winter you can see the oranges growing in the streets) in early to mid-January and have a very short season, a few weeks only. Find out more about what’s in season in January in my other post.

One of my favourite things to make with these delicious seasonal fruits is Seville Orange Marmalade.

How to Make Seville Orange Marmalade

Making marmalade is a labour of love, it does require a significant amount of time but it can be prepared the day before cooking to make the task less daunting and the fruits of your labour, so to speak, will be well worth the effort.

There is no comparison to homemade orange marmalade and you can make a year’s supply on one go.
